Come and join this highly motivated team as a Senior Instrumentation Technician. You will be responsible for providing dedicated technical and operational systems support to the process division, as well as ensuring that all systems are maintained and optimized.

Responsibilities

Management of the equipment within the process control domain
Best practice for instrumentation developed within relevant legal and safety frameworks
Audit high risk and safety-critical areas
Analyze and identify problems with the current control solution
System troubleshooting and hardware problems resolution
Support for existing instrumentation, networks, and hardware
Calibration and maintenance of all equipment within the control solution.

Requirements

National Technical Diploma in Instrumentation or NQF level 5 equivalent
Registered as a Professional Engineering Technician with ECSA would be advantageous
Competent as an Instrument Mechanician
Experience in Process Instrumentation in a smelter environment
3 years of relevant work experience – including fault finding on instruments
Siemens Step7 programming, SCADA systems (IFIX / WinCC)
DCS system (PCS7)
Profibus DP and PA network diagnostics and fault finding
ASI networks configuration and programming.
Historian database e.g. PI.
Knowledge of applicable laws, standards, and specifications.
